The tears have just spilt over—hot and rolling reluctantly because you’re not here to wipe them away.  I try to be strong for you.  I sit here flipping through parched sheets of notebook paper and scrolling through pages of internet monstrosities that repeat my inadequacies back to me.  I can’t stop them from spilling out over keyboard and hands.  I hide them like they’re a secret.  The child hides her broken crayon beneath the desk…and silently the tears begin to roll in shame.  Such blinding, illogical fear.

failingI was sitting in the passenger seat all quiet and folded into myself.  I can never get my legs close enough to my chest, my head low enough, my hands hidden enough—all around me there is pain and colors popping invisibly in the darkness.  It’s the smell of pot, the smell of egos and heartbreak, of too much perfume—why can’t we just face ourselves?  These are the broken souls.  This is the water—the lights swaying back and forth across the slush of winter hearts shivering from a streetlight or a late night argument.  Clicking away—the music changes too quickly for failing

nothing like taking a long break from all technology to just live.

It feels so good to finally be settled.

I'm working on a tattoo portfolio. I went to a tattoo shop a few days ago (ali got a small tatto I'd drawn on the back of her neck for her birthday). It was really cool. All the art on the walls, the music playing in the background. Way cool. I want to work in a shop like that some day. I'm saving up for a tattoo gun, ink, the works. I'll be giving some amateur tattoos to a few people I know for really cheap, or possibly free.

My job as a deli slave at Albertson's is pretty okay. Pretty disgusting to work with raw chicken and lunch meat for eight hours a day, but it's worth it to support my family. I've met some pretty cool people there too.

And every day I come home to my beautiful wife, our dog Oz, cat Chi, and two fish Zen and Karma. Our apartment is small and adorable and perfect. Everything works just fine and it's filled with books, movies, and music. We steal wireless internet from our hippie neighbors. And when we have extra money we party hardy until the walls melt, dancing makes you feel like the most beautiful person in the world, trees dance, and sex tastes like candy.

I've drawn a few poster sized pictures and some smaller works, but sadly I have no scanner at the moment...maybe those will go up but we'll see. I'm working on a short story called "Deli Slave, A True Story." The novel is still in progress, but now that I've got a routine hopefully I'll be working on it more. I've got some good ideas sloshing around in here.

I kinda missed deviantART. :) Well, laundry isn't going to do itself.
